Letter from our President
Hello! I am Amanda Webb, the Chapter President of Alpha Gamma Delta at Northwood University. Whether you are just browsing our website or preparing for recruitment, welcome! Let me tell you a little bit about the importance of finding where you belong on campus, my chapter, and the impact it has had on my life.
You only get out what you put in both in college and life in general. The environment that you place yourself in, the effort that you put in, and the people you surround yourself with will all have a great impact on your life, your success, and your happiness. Northwood University will set you up for great success but you have to put the effort in yourself. Getting involved on campus and surrounding yourself with likeminded people with the same goals as yourself is key. Find where your passions lie and join areas on campus that will push you to better yourself and love the process. Find the group of people that will stick with you throughout this whole journey of college and life and support you through every up and every down. I did not truly understand the importance of this until I stumbled upon it and now I stress it to everyone that I meet, especially those in a new environment around new people. You have the opportunity to make the next three or four plus years the best years of your life if you choose to.
I stumbled upon Alpha Gamma Delta, or more so, they stumbled upon me. I was contacted by a few sisters and fell in love with how down to earth and unique every individual was. From those that were studying abroad and traveling the world, to star students and tutors, to girls that ride horses back home, to cheerleaders, and much more, everyone fit perfectly into this family. There was more to "sorority" than stereotypes but there was a realness that I could not find in any other group that I was a part of on campus. I dove right in and loved every minute of it. These girls have been my rock over the past four years at Northwood and in my personal, every day life. Every sister of Alpha Gamma Delta has supported me and pushed me to be the best version of myself and those are the people I so badly want to be around. This sorority has opened me up to leadership events, a Service Immersion trip to New Orleans, scholarships, sisterhood, and so much love. I want you to feel this same kind of oneness with a group. Find where you belong and chase after it. Support other women and accept the support right back. Go find your home and you will be accepted with open arms!
With love and support,
Amanda Webb and the Zeta Sigma sisters
